Motorsailers are hard to generalize as they are hybrids among sailing boats and motor boats, A typical motosailer will pack more power and volume than a pure sailing boat, as well as a pronounced pilothouse to steer and navigate (so not being being only a deck or raised saloon). Generally equiped to handle all kind of weather conditions supporting manegeable sails with a short crew. Capable to pull the boat at speed under sail alone in a moderate breeze and have a propeller-engine combination allowing for a fuel efficient motoring and having enough power to at least reach hull speed under engine alone.
