An eight-year-old boy blacked out when the boat he was in capsized boat in Melbourne's Port Phillip Bay.
Paramedics said the boy, his father and a 53-year-old man were taking the boat out for a test drive when it capsized in the bay at Carrum, around 3.30pm on Sunday 25yh July.
Paramedic Graham Mummery said in a statement the trio had catapulted into the water.
"The eight-year-old boy told us he remembered being under the boat and then blacked out," Mr Mummery said.
"Thankfully he was wearing a life jacket and when he came to, found he was in an air pocket under the boat and was able to call out to his father."
He said the boy's father told his son to take the life jacket off and swim out from under the boat.
