Fisheries manager of regional operations Peter Dietman said that as the weather warmed up, more people began enjoying the water.
"It is very likely we will hear more reports of shark activity along the coastline," he said.

"We urge anyone who notices sharks to report it the 24-hour Fishwatch number on 1800 065 522.

"Any details about the location and number of sharks, how close it is to shore and to swimmers or other people is very helpful for us tracking them along the coastline."

Mr Dietman said great whites were fully protected in all Australian state and Commonwealth waters
