World-leading Australian yachtsman ‘Andrew Cape’ who has sailed around Cape Horn an impressive seven times, has written to Jessica Watson, 16, to express his 'concerns' about her around the world trip. Andrew believes she has just a 33 percent chance of losing her boat or even worse her life.

'Obviously you have to start somewhere to gain experience but to head straight into the Southern Ocean on your own is foolish', Cape advises. Jessica’s chance of completing her around-world journey are 33 per cent, chances of damage to her boat or crew preventing continuation are 33 per cent and there is a 33 per cent chance of total loss of her boat or crew, according to Cape.

Jessica Watson was supposed leave from Sydney last weekend in her endeavour to be the youngest person to sail around the world solo.
