Marine carpet is manufactured to withstand harsh marine environments such a salt water, mud, sand and the like, sooner or later they're bound to get dirty - but what is the best way to clean them?.

These house hold items will have your boat looking new again; wet/dry vacuum, garden hose, white vinegar, and a brush.
Tip: Using carpet shampoos and conditioners may cause carpet fibres to soften, resulting in the carpet to look worn-out.
Step 1
Vacuum and or brush carpet completely
Step 2
Scrub any areas that are badly stained with brush to loosen the dirt.
Step 3
After brushing vacuum down carpet.
Step 4
Mix one cup of white vinegar into a 1 litre spray bottle, then fill with water.
Tip: Oxi-Clean or dish washing liquid can be used also.
Step 5
Spray the stained areas with the vinegar solution thoroughly, then let set for 15-20 minutes
Step 6
Steadily brush the stain once more. It helps if you brush the stain in directions that follow the grain of the carpet.
Step 7
Thoroughly rinse the area using a garden hose or pressure washer.
Step 8
Use wet vacuum to suck up any remaining water
Step 9
Lastly, allow the carpet to air dry completely
These simple steps will help prolong the life of your marine grade carpet.
