Ski Boats Ignoring Regulations
Boat safety blitz has found boaters on the Murray River are less safe than last year.
The three day operation netted about 370 vessels and fined 70 people, an increase on the previous year.
Common infringements were towing, speeding and life jacket regulations.
The New South Wales Maritime - Regional manager , Scott Kidd, says
"On a positive note we've been reasonably pleased with jet ski or PWC behaviour so that's great, but people in ski boats, that's probably been the unpleasant side of the stats this year ... our numbers in terms of infringements for ski boat operators are up,"
